Shaft is an unreleased track recorded in August 2014 by NPG Q, a band consisting of John Blackwell, Marcus Anderson, Andrew Gouché and Xavier Taplin.

The basis for the track was recorded live during a show by NPG Q on 10 August 2014 (a.m.) at Paisley Park Studios ('NPGMC Room') in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Prince added his guitar parts later in August. The song was played live by NPG Q during the release-party for the Art Official Age and Plectrumelectrum albums at Paisley Park Studios on 30 September 2014.

Shaft was intended for an album by NPG Q. The project was abandoned when John Blackwell left to tour with D’Angelo in October 2014. The track remains unreleased.
