A Love Bizarre was the third and final single to be released from Sheila E.'s second album Romance 1600. It was released three months after the album, and was released in North America, the UK and Europe. The a-side and b-sides were both portions of the full-length track A Love Bizarre. Prince wrote, produced and largely performed the track.

Although the song is not included on its soundtrack, the single also served as a companion piece for the Krush Groove movie (released the same month) as its video was made of a scene in which she performs the song (Sheila E. acts as the lead female character in the film and sings this song, as well as Holly Rock which will be released as a single seven months later).

The single reached number 11 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart, and number 2 on the Billboard Black Chart. It also reached position 1 in the Billboard Hot Dance/Disco - Club Play chart, becoming the fourth associated artist single to top this chart (and her second number 1 hit in this chart), after Nasty Girl, The Glamorous Life and Sugar Walls.
