Breakfast Can Wait was a stand-alone digital released on 3 September 2013. A remix EP, titled The Breakfast Experience, followed on 24 October 2013 on iTunes, and on Amazon the next day. It was made available on 3rdEyeTunes.com on 5 November 2013. The track was included on Art Official Age the following year. It retroactively became the first single from the album, although it is believed that the album was not conceived at the time of the single’s release. The song Breakfast Can Wait had been available as an individual download on 3rdEyeGirl.com from 5 February 2013, and when it was re-released on 3rdEyeTunes.com on 17 August 2013, the accompanying artwork, showing comedian Dave Chappelle dressed as Prince and serving pancakes (from a 2004 sketch from an episode of Chappelle’s Show) drew a lot of positive media attention for Prince, highlighting his sense of humor.
