Erotic City was a promotional single available in the UK only in late 1984.

Although the song Erotic City was included on the single Let's Go Crazy, it had become a club hit in its own right in the USA, and as such was made available in the UK, where its commercial release wouldn't come until a few months later in February 1985, when Let's Go Crazy was released in the UK.

Unusually, the b-side was a cover version of a Prince-written song; I Feel For You (US Dance Remix) by Chaka Khan.

As a promotional single only, the single was not eligible for the charts in the UK.

In 1989, Erotic City was re-issued as a single in Germany as part of a set of re-issues including extended versions and remixes of Prince's singles. This marked the first time Erotic City had been commercially released as the a-side of a single; the b-side was I Would Die 4 U (Extended Version), originally taken from the I Would Die 4 U 12" single. This release marked the first CD release for both tracks.
