Go Go Dancer was the first single to be released from the album Carmen Electra, by Carmen Electra, released in North America, the UK, and Europe.
It was released eight months before the album, although the album (then known as Carmen) was initially planned for release around the same time as this single (and is mentioned as "forthcoming" on the single's back cover and labels).
Go Go Dancer contains a sample of Lost In Music by Sister Sledge (from their 1979 album We Are Family, also released as a single), although the single incorrectly attributes the track to Chic.
The single did not enter the charts.
