Heaven Must Be Near was a promotional single released from Ingrid Chavez’s eponymous album (available after the second and final commercial single, Hippy Blood), and was released around eight months after the album.
The single contained several remixes of Heaven Must Be Near, which was co-written, produced and had music performed by Prince. It also contained some remixes of Hippy Blood, which was also taken from the album but had no input by Prince.
As a promotional release only, the single was not eligible to enter the charts.
