I’m Ready was the second commercial single (and third overall after the Shhh single) to be released from Tevin Campbell’s second album I’m Ready. It was available in the USA, Germany and Australia. An edit of the song Shhh was initially planned to be the b-side of that single, but for unknown reasons, was replaced at last minute by an intrumental version of 'I’m Ready' (the first manufactured US single had by mistake the initially intented 4:10 version of Shhh labels but the actual audio is an instrumental of I'm Ready). The album version of Shhh was included on the Australian edition of the maxi-single, however. The other editions did not contain a Prince-penned track and are not discussed in detail here.

The single reached number 21 on ARIA Top 50 Singles.
