Make No Mistake, She’s Mine was both the first single to be released from Kenny Rogers’s twentieth album I Prefer The Moonlight and the second single from Ronnie Milsap’s twentieth album Heart & Soul . It was released in North America and Australia only.
While the single’s title track Make No Mistake, She’s Mine featured no input by Prince, its b-side contains the track You’re My Love, written Prince under the pseudonym Joey Coco. The song was included on Kenny Rogers’s They Don’t Make Them Like They Used To released 8 months earlier. Contrary to the a-side, You’re My Love is a solo performance by Kenny Rogers and is the same version as the one included on his album.
The single reached number 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart, number 42 on the Billboard US Adult Contemporary Chart. It also reached the top spot on the Canadian RPM Country Tracks.
