Peace is a single by The New Power Generation sold only at concerts on Prince’s Hit N Run Tour, beginning with the 14 April 2001 show at the Atlanta Civic Center, Atlanta, Georgia (along with The Daisy Chain and Prince’s single Supercute).
The single’s title track was also offered as a download from the NPG Music Club almost three months before the single’s release, and 2045: Radical Man had appeared the previous year on the Bamboozled soundtrack album (credited to Prince instead of the New Power Generation).
Both tracks later appeared on The Slaughterhouse (credited to Prince), but the single was originally planned to be released in conjunction with The New Power Generation’s proposed fourth album Peace in 2000, before the album was aborted.
The single’s artwork was shown on NPGOnlineLtd.com in March 2000, and print on the CD still claims this to be the "first cybersingle from the 4thcoming Peace".
The packaging for the single is unique among Prince-related releases - the CD is held against a card backing with a folding card flap, held in place by a Velcro connector through the CD’s hole.
