It was released five weeks prior to the album, in the USA, Europe and the UK only, and featured remixes by popular remixers Jason Nevins and The Neptunes, as well as appearances from popular rappers Eve and Q-Tip.
The single’s main b-side, The Greatest Romance Ever Sold (Adam & Eve Remix) (featuring Eve), was an entirely re-recorded version of the song containing samples of the original around a rap by Prince (as ) and Eve in a similar vein to many of Prince’s remixes from 1994-9 (many of the lyrics from this version were later reused on Silicon).

The single had only little chart success, perhaps in part due to the video only being ready two months after the single’s release. It reached number 63 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, and number 23 on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs & Tracks chart.
It didn’t fared much better in Europe, as it reached number 65 in the United Kingdom, 71 in the Netherlands and 91 in Germany.
