The Truth is the first and only single released from Prince’s 21st album The Truth, his fifth album credited to SymbolSmallerBlue.png. The single was sold for $15.00 directly from the 1-800 New Funk phone service and 1800newfunk.com in February 1997 (on the same day as the album Kamasutra by The NPG Orchestra).

Both tracks were available the following year on The Truth, which had been sent to music critics at the same time this single was made available.

Because of its limited release, the single was not eligible for any charts.
