The Other Side Of The Pillow is the eighth track on Prince's 21st album The Truth (his fifth using the name SymbolSmallerBlue.png). In 2002, a live version was also included as the seventh track on the first disc of One Nite Alone... Live!, Prince's first live album (along with Muse 2 The Pharaoh, Mellow and Strange Relationship from the same show), and a slightly edited version had been included seven months earlier as the fourth track on the One Nite Alone... Live EP promotional CD.

Specific recording dates for the studio version are not known, but the track is believed to have been recorded in Autumn 1996 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota (along with the rest of the album).
