Tweakin’, the second track on George Clinton’s first Paisley Park Records album The Cinderella Theory, had no input by Prince originally, but Tweakin’ was available the album’s second and final single, containing several remixes created by Prince (as Paisley Park). While four of the remixes were given standard remix names, one was known as Hysterical, but it is included here rather than receiving its own song entry. The track was written by Bob Bishop, Chuck D, David Spradley, Flavor Flav, and produced by George Clinton. Prince added additional keyboards and guitar to the track for the remixes.

Dates for Prince’s remix session are not known, but it likely took place in Summer 1989 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA. Hysterical contains several sound effect samples also used in Sex, recorded that summer, and it is possible this remix session took place during the same set of sessions. This version also contains short horn samples from Kool & The Gang’s Open Sesame (Groove with the Genie) (the title track of their 1976 album) and Hollywood Swinging from their 1974 album Wild And Peaceful. Some remixes contain a sampled phrase of "let us lay some funk on you" (also used in the original), taken from Parliament’s Big Footin (from the album Chocolate City and the single b-side to Ride On, both 1975).
