Unreleased Music Video details

Shooting or Planned shooting date: 1987
Producer(s): Alastair Bates (Limelight)
Director: Peter Care

This entry details an unreleased video for Madhouse’s single 6. Very little is known about this video directed by Peter Care and produced by Limelight. Maneca Lightner (the model on the covers of Madhouse albums and singles) spoke about it in a 2019 interview:
"The first single was 6 and we did a video actually forthat album and for whatever reason, they didn’t release it (...). Basically, I remember having to walk down an alley in a fur coat...I don’t even remember which song. It might have been Eight, I don't even remember. But we did a couple of scenes with me and then, that was it. I didn’t know if they were doing other stuff with the band or what was going on, but they never finished it"

Since Eight was never planned to be released as a single, it is safe to assume that this shooting was for 6, the album’s sole single. Interestingly, Maneca Lightner does not appear in Hard Life mini-movie shot in March 1987 and based around Madhouse’s music taken from the 8 album.

6 was listed in the New Video Clips section of the Billboard magazine published on 31 January 1987 meaning that it was available for broadcast and /or promotional purposes. The video was never aired however for some unknown reason.
