Two distinct videos were made for the song Guitar. The so-called Verizon version or Verizon Wireless version was the first to be recorded and broadcast in 2007 (see here). The second one was shot on 24 April 2008 but released five years later on 8 April 2013. It was first available for download on one of Prince's official websites, 3rdEyeGirl.com.

Confusingly, it is not known why the shooting of this video occured a year after the release of the single nor why it was released five years after. At the time of release, Prince was touring with a different new band (3rdEyeGirl) for the Live Out Loud Tour on which they played Guitar frequently, but the song is not known to have been re-recorded.
The second version of Guitar is a more produced video than the Verizon version. The song (the 2007 album version) is performed in full by Prince and his band (The Twinz, Cora Coleman-Dunham, Joshua Dunham and Morris Hayes).
