Mia Bocca is the first video by Jill Jones released for broadcast and to promote the single. It was directed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino and shot in San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico in early 1987.
The sepia-colored video opens with a voice-over (by Mondino) saying "On, the first hot day, I created something a little too hot. Now check it out". It is followed by the intro Baby, You’re A Trip sung by Jill Jones (as on the album) which wakes up a few children who were sleeping in a desert place in Mexico. At the shout of "Americana", they gather to spy on Jones and follow her as she sings Mia Bocca. The clip ends with a clergyman making the sign of the cross and Jones walking away accompanied by the notes of a trumpet player and the voice-over saying "Hey baby, they just ain’t ready for you yet".
Jean-Baptiste Mondino would later photograph the cover of Prince’s Lovesexy album and shoot the video for I Wish U Heaven.
