What Do U Want Me 2 Do? is the seventh track on Prince’s 28th studio album Musicology, but four and a half months before the album’s release, the track was streamed in the NPG Music Club' Glam Slam VIP room when it was announced that the seven-CD set The Chocolate Invasion was put on hold indefinitely.

Initial recording dates are unknown, but the song was recorded in the summer of 2002, most likely at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota.
