Whole Lotta Love, a cover version of the Led Zeppelin song from their 1969 album Led Zeppelin II (also released as a single in 1969), is the ninth track on Prince’s fourth live album Indigo Nights. Five years earlier, however, a 2002 live version was included as the ninth track on the DVD Live At The Aladdin Las Vegas (No audio-only version of this performance has been released).
The song has been played live regularly from 2002-7 and occasionally in other years. While most versions included vocals, the album recording was an instrumental take, and (as with several other songs from the album) comes from the 22 September 2007 (a.m.) aftershow following the final night of 21 Nights In London : The Earth Tour, recorded at The IndigO2 in London, England. Josh Dunham’s bassline for the track was also played in the previous track at the show (also included on the album), Rock Steady.
