Yellow is the fifth track on Sheila E.’s second album Romance 1600. As with most of the rest of the album, the track was written, produced and largely performed by Prince, although Sheila E. was credited as the writer and producer. Basic tracking took place on 8 February 1985 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California (three days after recording Romance 1600).
