Fruit At The Bottom (Special Edition) is the third reissue of Wendy & Lisa's second 'solo' album. Fruit At The Bottom was initially released in March 1989 by Virgin Records, followed in November of that same year by a Limited Edition which contained a bonus disc with 4 remixes. Wounded Bird Records re-released the album in 2006 with 5 bonus tracks (4 remixes and a previously unreleased song) in the USA.

In 2011, Cherry Pop re-release the album in a remastered version in Europe with 4 bonus tracks that were already included on the Wounded Bird Records version, a non-album track (Hip Hop Love ) and Prince's remix of Lolly Lolly which was only avalaible on a single released in 1989. Although the previous reissues contained remixes of Lolly Lolly by different producers, the Special Edition is the first one to include Prince's version, dubbed Lolly Lolly (According To Prince). He was not involved in the recording of the Fruit At The Bottom album otherwise (therefore the listing below does not include the original issue and the other re-releases).

This Special Edition of Fruit At The Bottom did not enter the charts.

Prince's remix session took place on 30 November 1988 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA. Of note, Wendy & Lisa's first three 'solo' albums contain contributions by some former associates (Bobby Z., Jesse Johnson, Eric Leeds, Susannah Melvoin and Susan Rogers). Prince was not involved in the recordings of these albums, although initial trackings of songs like Everything But You (from Wendy & Lisa 1987), Skeleton Key, Minneapolis #1 and probably Minneapolis #2, Eric's Ghost and C-Ya (from Eroica released in 1990) took place when Wendy & Lisa were still members of The Revolution. The lyrics of some other songs, like Song About, Someday I and Porch Swing also deal with their relationship with him. On his side, Prince has worked on some songs from the vault for albums that remain unreleased (Roadhouse Garden and Crystal Ball Volume II) and released some others over the years on which he kept Wendy and/or Lisa's contributions more or less intact, although not always fully credited (We Can Funk, Chocolate, Splash). It wasn't until around 2006 that he recorded new songs in studio with them, some (if not all) being released on Planet Earth in 2007.
