| The Best Of Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame + Museum is a compilation of performances from induction ceremonies at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, containing the song While My Guitar Gently Weeps, by Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Steve Winwood, Dhani Harrison and Prince, recorded live on 15 March 2004, Waldorf Astoria, New York, NY, USA. Although Prince was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame on the same night, neither his acceptance speech nor his performance of his own songs (a medley of Let’s Go Crazy, Sign O’ The Times and Kiss preceded by an intro) were included on this release.
While My Guitar Gently Weeps is not available on any of Prince’s own albums and this live take is his only known performance of the song. The Best Of Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame + Museum marks its first audio release (the song was previously released on the DVD Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame + Museum: Live). It was also included on the condensed compilation (single LP) of 10 performances titled Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Live - Volume 1 and released in April 2016, coincidentally the week after Prince’s passing. A limited edition on purple vinyl (2,500 copies) was released in August 2016 as a tribute to Prince.
The album also contains performances by many other inductees, several of whom have never appeared on the same album as Prince. The physical release (a triple CD) contains 51 performances, but only 20 were included on the initial digital release.

The compilations didn’t produce any commercial singles and didn’t entered the charts.
