|introduction           = '''Here It Is''' is the debut solo album by gospel/pop singer [[Jevetta Steele]] (who also sings with [[The Steeles]]), and was released in France in May 1991. 

The album contained [[And How]] and [[Skip 2 My U My Darling]] (containing writing and musical input by [[Prince]]), as well as [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calling_You Calling You] (which had been included in the movie [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bagdad_Caf%C3%A9 Bagdad Cafe] and which later gained more attention when [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Michael George Michael] included it on his bestselling [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_Live_(George_Michael_and_Queen_EP) Five Live EP]). 


<b>Sessions and compiling</b>

[[Prince]]’s contributions were recorded at distinct times. [[And How]] was recorded by [[Prince]] in March 1986, but [[Jevetta Steele]]’s version was a re-recording from February 1990. [[Skip 2 My U My Darling]] was recorded in December 1990. 

[[Hold Me]] was also first recorded by [[Prince]] in December 1990, and was originally intended for considered for [[Album: Diamonds And Pearls|Diamonds And Pearls]] at one point but rejected because of its similarities with the title track. It was offered to [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anita_Baker Anita Baker] but she didn’t use it. [[Jevetta Steele]] recorded her vocal overdubs in October 1991. [[Open Book]] was recorded in January 1991, and was intended for [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martika Martika]’s album [[Album: Martika’s Kitchen|Martika’s Kitchen]] before [[Jevetta Steele]] recorded vocals at some point before Summer 1993. [[With This Tear]], recorded in 1992, was intended for [[Jevetta Steele]], but it is not known if it was planned for the reissue of this album or another project and if she recorded a version of the song (it was later offered to [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celine_Dion Celine Dion] for her [[Album: Celine Dion|self-titled album]] released in 1992).

The album was later revamped and released worldwide in 1993. Both of [[Prince]]’s songs were removed, but were replaced by two alternate tracks with [[Prince]] input: [[Hold Me]] and [[Open Book]]. The reasons for the switch in songs are unknown.

The 1993 international release was accompanied by a promotional release, [[Single: Hold Me|Hold Me]]. The album did not enter the charts, however.
