The track is believed to have been recorded in 1977 at an unknown studio. [[Prince]]’s handwritten notes as used in [[Book:_The_Beautiful_Ones|The Beautiful Ones]] book released posthumously in 2019 revealed the previously-unknown cover version as the ninth and final track on an early configuration of his debut album [[Album: For You|For You]]. It has not been confirmed that the song was fully recorded in a professional studio, though, nor that the album was ever actually compiled in this form; it is certainly possible that [[Prince]] was simply working through ideas using songs he had written when compiling this tracklist.
