While specific recording dates are not known, it is assumed to have been recorded in early 2014 at [[Paisley Park Studios]] in Chanhassen, Minnesota. 

The track uses a musical backing sampled from ''Blinded'' by Los Angeles singer/songwriter/rapper [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mila_J Mila J] (only available as a streaming video in 2012), and a short sample of the ''Blinded'' music was first used in the sampler set in March 2014, indicating that '''U Know''' had been recorded by this point (though it is possible that he was simply using ''Blinded'', with '''U Know''' recorded later).
