The single title is a pun on the name of Paris Saint-Germain’s stadium, Parc des Princes. Of note is that the cover image by Jeff Katz had also been used for promotion of Prince’s only live show at the stadium, 16 June, 1990, Parc des Princes, Paris, France - the eleventh date on the Nude Tour - but neither track on the single was recorded at the show. Partyman was performed at the show, but Cool was not performed by Prince until much later in his career.
