The Morning After is the third track on the download version of Prince's 33rd studio album Lotusflow3r (the song was replaced on the CD version by Crimson And Clover).

Recording dates and studio are unknown, but it is likely the track was recorded in 2005 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA, 77 Beverly Park, Hollywood, CA, USA or Sunset Sound, Hollywood, CA, USA. It was included as the seventh track on a late 2005 configuration of 3121, but was removed as the album underwent some changes before release.
