A tape photographed in [[Prince]]'s vault at [[Paisley Park Studios]] lists it as [[Prince_Vault:Selected_anniversaries/August 1|1 August 2009]] alluding the exact date for the recording at [[Paisley Park Studios]] in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Engineer [[James "Fluff" Harley]] has stated that [[Sea Of Everything]] was overdubbed by [[Prince]] during sessions that yielded material for the [[Album: 20Ten|20Ten]] album, between September 2009 and February 2010.

Soon after its release, the Portuguese beer company Super Bock streamed a video of the song to promote their product in conjunction with Prince’s appearance at the Palco Super Bock music festival. The video was removed, however, following a copyright claim by NPG Records, and it appears it was not sanctioned, so the video is not listed below or in the music videos section.
