4 Lust is an unreleased duet by Jill Jones and Prince believed to have been recorded in June 1985, possibly at Sunset Sound, Hollywood, California, but further confirmation is needed. The song is a companion piece to the song For Love, recorded around the same time for Jill Jones’ first album. Additional work (strings overdubs) was done on the track in late January 1988 (possibly for the For Love single). A new version of 4 Lust was fully re-recorded by Jill Jones in London, England with Martyn Ware as producer later in 1988. The track was intended for Jill Jones’ proposed second album.
The song was unknown until Jill Jones posted a link on her Facebook page on 27 April 2011 to a YouTube stream of the song, over 20 years after its recording. The song is considered as unreleased as it was posted without Prince’s consent and removed shortly thereafter.
