|introduction = Anotherloverholenyohead is the eleventh track on Prince’s eighth album Parade, the third to be credited to Prince and the Revolution, and, three months after the album’s release, Anotherloverholenyohead was released as the album’s third single in North America.
In the UK and Europe it was released as the album’s fourth single, following Girls & Boys.
Basic tracking took place on 16 December 1985 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California (the day before Love On A Blue Train). Clare Fischer arranged and recorded orchestration for the song at some point in late-December 1985 - early 1986 at Monterey Sound Studios in Glendale, California. Although presumably the whole song was scored by Clare Fischer, only a small bit of it can be heard in the final release. When Anotherloverholenyohead was scheduled as a single, Prince asked Eric Leeds and Atlanta Bliss to overdub a horn section to the 'Extended Version' based on the arrangement they had been playing live; these horn overdubs were recorded without Prince present on 17 June 1986 at Creation Studios, Minneapolis, MN, USA (following after a full-band session earlier that day, in which Data Bank, Can’t Stop This Feeling I Got and We Can Fuck were recorded).
