Don’t Talk 2 Strangers is a video by Chaka Khanreleased for broadcast and to promote the single. Exact shooting date and location are unknown, but it was likely shot in Fall 1982. The video was directed by Steve Carr.
The video follows the narrative of the song about a mother forced to leave her child and given her advises. The reason why the mother leaves her daughter and entrusts her to her grandmother is however not detailed. Throughout the video, the little girl evolves and blossoms as a woman and then a mother in her turn.
Interestingly, the role of grandmother is played by Chaka Khan’s mother, Sandra Coleman. The role of the girl who has become an adult is played by Chaka Khan’s daughter, Milini Khan.
