This original song, described by [[Eric Leeds]] as "lighter, bouncier", was very different from [[Lovesexy]], although it did have the same horn/synth hook-line as well as the 'rain is wet sugar is sweet' lyrics and dialogue, also at the end of [[Lovesexy]]. The song had a faster pace. 
'''Luv Sexy''' was included on an (untitled) acetate of most songs that ended up on [[Album: Lovesexy|Lovesexy]]. Three days after this acetate was made [[Prince]] would record [[Lovesexy]], as a replacement for [[Luv Sexy]].
