<!------ ALBUM TEXT -------->
|introduction = The Self Titled Album is the first studio album by Fonky Bald Heads, a group led by Kirk Johnson, also featuring Kip Blackshire and Mike Scott, who had all played regularly with Prince at around the time of this album’s recording and release. | |||
< | DVS, who raps on the album, also features on Prince’s track The Daisy Chain, released as a single in April 2001.
The album contains one song co-written by Prince with Kirk Johnson, titled Rowdy Mac. He offered to play the guitar solo on the song Under The Same Clouds (written by David Coleman, DVS and J. Isaac Moore), but was bothered by the word "Hate" in the song’s lyrics. After discussions, the group decided not to change the lyrics and Mike Scott who played the solo. Strike Up The Band was also written by Prince for DVS and Kip Blackshire, probably for this album, but they rejected the track.
