Superconductor is the first song on Andy Allo's second album Superconductor (her first on NPG Records). A 15-second clip of the song (without lyrics, other than the title spoken once) was used in a video on Andy Allo's Facebook page eight months before the album's release. The song is co-written by Prince, and he appears on unidentified instrumentation on the track.

While specific recording dates are not known, it is assumed to have been recorded in Summer 2011 - early 2012 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA or Powerplay Studios, Maur, Switzerland.
