Don't Let Him Fool Ya is an song recorded in the Spring of 1982 at Prince's Kiowa Trail Home Studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota (along with several other tracks that would re-appear over the next several years). The track focuses on bass guitar and drums, with embellishments by guitar and keyboards.
The box of the master tape containing this recording (together with Can't Stop This Feeling I Got and Jealous Girl) has the date 28 June 1985 written under the track. Possibly more work was done on it at this date.

The song was released in 2019 as the ninth track on the Vault Tracks part 2 disc of a Deluxe edition of the 1999 album and as a pre-release of that, three weeks ahead of the album's release.
