It is the sixth track on the first disc of Prince's 19th album Emancipation, the third album to be credited to . Two weeks after the album's release, Betcha By Golly, Wow! was released as the album's first single. Basic tracking dates are unknown, but it is likely that the track was recorded in late 1995 or early 1996 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota.
