The collection contained one track which was previously-unreleased, If We Don’t, while the other 16 tracks had been included on Minneapolis Genius - Featuring Prince in 1992 (and six of them on Minneapolis Genius in 1986).

This collection was re-released as The Legends Collection in 1999 with no changes to the tracklist.

The album was released without much promotion, and did not chart.
