Tangerine is the sixth track (fifth song) on Prince's 23rd album Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic (his sixth using the name ). An extended version (not labeled as such) was included as the fifth track on the 2001 companion album Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic.

While specific recording dates are not known, initial tracking likely took place in early 1999 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA. The Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic version was likely the full recording, edited for its initial release on Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic.
