Blanche is groove song about “A girl named Blanche and a dude named Stanley’s desire” as Prince says over the intro. It was recorded on 16 July 1986 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California (at the end of the one-day session that produced Sign O’ The Times). While sessions in July concentrated on material for the aborted Dream Factory, the track is not known to have been placed on any configuration of that album, or any other project. The song was released in September 2020 on one of the discs with previously unreleased tracks included with the Sign O’ The Times Super Deluxe set.
