When Stars Collide is the ninth song on Andy Allo’s second album Superconductor (her first on NPG Records). Prince appears on unidentified instrumentation on the track.
While specific recording dates are not known, it is assumed to have been recorded somewhere between Fall 2011 and early 2012, presumably at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota, in the same sessions that produced Breakdown, Time and What It Feels Like, which was actually recorded as the second half of When Stars Collide. “If you play the two songs, they should seamlessly go together,” Andy Allo has said about the song in a 2014 interview.
