Arboretum is the tenth and final track on Prince’s 25th album One Nite Alone....
Specific recording dates are unknown, but it is believed that basic tracking took place in Spring 2001 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota (along with the rest of the One Nite Alone... album), during the mastering of The Rainbow Children album. This track was recorded in the atrium of Paisley Park Studios, and Prince credited his pet doves Divinity and Majesty as providing ambient singing on the track, as their cage was in the upstairs hallway overlooking the atrium.
The track itself has a running time of 2:16, followed by 1:10 of silence, with a full running time of 3:26. This track is notable as the first time Prince ended an album with an instrumental track.
