Nevaeh Ni Ecalp A (‘A Place In Heaven’ spelled backwards) is a song created on 20 April 1986 at Prince’s Galpin Blvd Home Studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota, utilizing Lisa’s vocal version of A Place In Heaven, also recorded on that day, played backwards, accompanied by some new backing music. The song was included as included as the eleventh track on the 3 June 1986 configuration of Dream Factory.
A segue skit with a portion of Nevaeh Ni Ecalp A, a dialogue scene with Wendy & Lisa, a sample of ‘Witness!’ (taken from Witness 4 The Prosecution) and a spoken intro by Prince introducing Dream Factory. was also created in this session. This skit became an uncredited segue, between the first and second tracks, Visions and Dream Factory, at least on the third (18 July 1986) configuration, but possibly also on the two earlier configurations.
Nevaeh Ni Ecalp A was released in September 2020 on two of the discs with previously unreleased tracks included with the Sign O’ The Times Super Deluxe as the seventeenth track of Vault Tracks part 1.
