Time The Motion is the sixth full-length studio album by Japanese recording artist Kahoru Kohiruimaki, and was released in Japan only in November 1989.
The album contained the songs Mind Bells and Bliss, both co-written and mostly performed by Prince and Levi Seacer, Jr..
Sessions and compiling
Kahoru Kohiruimaki’s manager, Seijiro Udo, had promoted Prince’s Japanese concerts on the Lovesexy Tour, and Udo asked Prince to provide some tracks for Kohiruimaki.
Prince and Levi Seacer, Jr. recorded the tracks in Summer 1989, and Kohiruimaki simply overdubbed vocals for the tracks in Autumn 1989.
Promotion
Two singles were released from the album in Japan only. The album debuted Japanese Music Labo Chart at position 2. As Time The Motion was not released outside of Japan, it did not enter the US charts.
Of note, the promotional video for one of the singles, Dreamer, features the first known appearance of Lori Elle (Werner) and Robia LaMorte together (the shooting took place in Los Angeles, California). They were later recruited by Prince and nicknamed them 'Diamond' and 'Pearl' respectively for the Diamonds And Pearls album promotional activities, videos and tour.
The last show of the “Time The Motion Tour ’89-’90” was recorded and released the following year as Time The Motion Live, also on Paisley Park Records and TDK Records.
