All The King’s Horses is an unreleased cover version of the track by Aretha Franklin (from her 1972 album Young, Gifted and Black).
Specific recording dates are not known, but the track is believed to have been recorded in 2002 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Clare Fischer recorded an orchestral part in September 2002. Following the song’s recording, Prince released three instrumental albums before returning to the commercial pop music scene; this track may simply have not fit thematically on any of Prince’s albums following its recording.
