France Top 50

Definition

Below are all Prince singles that have charted the french Top 50 from 4 Nov. 1984 to present day. Top 10 hits are highlighted in light purple. Release dates are for France.

From 4 Nov. 1984 to 3 Sep. 1993 the charts were compiled by Nielsen & Ipsos. IFOP / Tite Live for SNEP took over from this latter date. The data are compiled on fridays and published on Saturdays and feature a compilation of "genuine sales" figures.

Promotional records as well as imports are excluded from the French charts.

Before Top 50 was created in 1984, Music Média Magazine was the publication selected by Billboards to feature french data in its "Charts Of The Worlds" section. From 1978 to late 1981 they issued monthly charts with 25 positions (later 20 positions). Another publication, Show Magazine, monthly published a chart of 10, then 30 positions from late 1973 to June 1984.
