Heart In My Hand is an unreleased song, assumed to be recorded somewhere between mid-1995 and late 1995, at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota. It was included as the fifth track of the third disc (twenty-seventh song) on a March/April 1996 configuration of Emancipation, but was removed as work on the album continued.
It is assumed to be unrelated to a track by the same title (written by JD Steele) that appeared on The Steeles’ album Heaven Help Us All, for which Prince contributed the song Well Done. The Steeles’ Heart In My Hand can be heard on the video The Sacrifice Of Victor.
