It Ain’t Over ’Til The Fat Lady Sings is an instrumental recorded on 9 July 1986 at Prince’s Galpin Blvd Home Studio. A line up of Prince, Wendy, Lisa, Eric Leeds and Atlanta Bliss recorded four takes of this instrumental, that was given its title by Eric Leeds. It was intended for an aborted musical tentatively titled The Dawn (sometimes also referred to as Dream Factory), and remains unreleased. Clare Fischer put an arrangement on it in August 1986, with Prince away in Europe on the Parade Tour.
The song was released in September 2020 as the second track of Vault Tracks part 2, one of the discs with previously unreleased tracks included with the Sign O’ The Times Super Deluxe Edition.
