Outa-Space is an unreleased cover of a Billy Preston instrumental that appeared on his 1971 album I Wrote A simple Song. While specific recording dates are not known, Prince (with The NPG) recorded an instrumental studio version of this song in the summer of 1994 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota for New Power Generation’s second album Exodus on the same day as a re-recording of Super Hero.

The song was included (merged with Super Hero but not listed) as the fourth track on the 2 December 1994 configuration of Exodus, but was removed from later configurations.

Although Super Hero and Outa-Space were left of the album, both songs were played live by Prince in 1994 and 1995.
