Revelation is the eleventh track on Prince’s 39th full-length studio album album Hitnrun Phase Two, the final Prince-related album to be released during his lifetime.

While specific recording dates are not known, it is assumed to have been recorded in Summer 2014 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota.

On 30 September 2014 the song was streamed in part during the Yahoo! Live album release party for Art Official Age and Plectrumelectrum by Joshua Welton from his Macbook Pro in Paisley Park Studios (Studio C), Chanhassen, Minnesota (along with X’s Face and the Rita Ora version of Ain’t About 2 Stop).
