Shut This Down is the second track on Prince’s 38th album Hitnrun Phase One.

While specific tracking dates are not known, it is assumed that the track was recorded in Spring 2014, most likely at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota. The track has been played over the PA before or after a number of Prince’s live shows, beginning with 1 June 2014 (show 1): Le Zénith, Paris, France.
