The Most Beautiful Girl In The World was the first and only single by Brian Gallagher, who had performed regularly with Prince from 1991 until 1994 as a member of the 'NPG Hornz'. The single was a part of ’s plan to release different versions of The Most Beautiful Girl In The World by different artists.
It was not connected to an album at the time of release, although a few months later Brian Gallagher’s version of The Most Beautiful Girl In The World was included on some versions of the album 1-800 New Funk (a compilation of mostly-unreleased music largely written and produced by Prince/ , recorded by other Paisley Park Records/ NPG Records artists).
The b-side, labeled The Most Beautiful Girl In The World (Vocal Version), was produced by Prince (as )’s own full-length version, released previously on The Beautiful Experience EP.
The single did not enter the charts.
The single is easily mistaken for a cover version of the track, but since produced by Prince/ was involved in the recording of Brian Gallagher’s version (and the basic tracks of Prince’s own version were used), the single is included here. A similar 'saxophone' version of the song, re-titled Beautiful Girl with Eric Leeds replacing Brian Gallagher was included on the Get Wild single in 1995.
